The process of obtaining
federal, state, and local permits requires an extensive knowledge of current
applicable
permitting regulations, as well as a good working relationship with
regulatory agency staff.
Lotspeich
and Associates, Inc. (L&A)
has developed and maintained excellent
rapport with the various agencies' staff throughout the many regulatory
changes that have occurred within the last several years. An early
part of the permitting process is the identification of environmentally
sensitive areas that could potentially influence the final design and
configuration of a project, and the type and amount of governmental
coordination required for final permit approval.
Once a permit has been issued,
a detailed project schedule is developed that tracks the submittal of key
permit compliance material, including Notice of Commencement Forms,
Conservation Easements documents, and the longer term compliance items such
as field monitoring (vegetation, water quality/elevations) and preparation
of monitoring reports.
The L&A staff has been involved in a wide diversity of project types: roads,
utilities and stormwater; residential; commercial; golf; and parks, sector
plans, and large scale ecological analysis. This diversity has allowed us to
have exposure to
virtually every conceivable development situation. A great deal of our project involvement entails
multi-disciplinary planning sessions during which project issues are
discussed and solutions evaluated. Our staff is accustomed to understanding the limitations and
expectations of other project disciplines, and applying them within the ecological constraints that may be present for any particular
project.
This process leads to solid and defendable solutions that meet the
project’s needs
while complying with
all applicable regulatory requirements.
