Background |

Catherine Bowman has extensive experience in plant identification and restoration/creation of both upland and wetland ecosystems, as well as a strong knowledge of endemic Florida plant species and their use in the urban environment. She has identified both rare and common upland and wetland plant species and conducted relocation of rare plants. Ms.
Bowman has designed educational programs for boardwalks through native vegetation areas. She has conducted extensive on-site field evaluations in numerous created wetland/monitoring projects with particular emphasis on the identification and classification of plant species for establishment of criteria for wetland restoration success. Ms.
Bowman has developed planting and monitoring plans for created and enhanced forested and herbaceous wetlands. She has also developed planting restoration and enhancement plans for numerous projects throughout the
state of Florida. She has conducted numerous wildlife, wetlands, and environmental assessments, and coordination of permit requirements for the Florida Department of Transportation's Project Development and Environmental studies and final design projects.
Ms. Bowman conducted extensive vegetation analysis studies and water quality sampling under a continuing services agreement with the
city of Orlando through Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan. |

Bachelor of Science, Botany, University of Central Florida, 1995.
Her academic emphasis was on plant taxonomy. Undergraduate independent study of Herbarium Management, at the University of Central Florida where she was responsible for collecting, preserving, and cataloging herbarium specimens. She assisted The Nature Conservancy, participated in the annual vegetation monitoring of the Disney Wilderness Preserve (Walker Ranch), collecting and identifying plants being prepared as permanent specimens. Ms.
Bowman has worked with the Florida Native Plant Society, identifying both rare and common upland and wetland plant species and conducted relocation of rare plants. Also, participates in rare upland plant surveys for The Nature Conservancy and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
